How did Conservas Pinhais reach the world's tables through e-commerce and digital marketing?

    Founded in 1920, Conservas Pinhais has won over palates—not only in Portugal but worldwide—thanks to its artisanal method of producing canned fish, a method to which it remains loyal to this day.

    Wanting to bring its history and traditional flavors to the digital realm, Conservas Pinhais needed to implement an accessible and effective e-commerce platform, especially for the international target audience, as well as create a digital marketing strategy that reflected its values and increased brand awareness.

    Together, we developed a digital transformation strategy for Conservas Pinhais that involved a multilingual e-commerce site, allowing for the convenient and contemporary purchase of the brand's products while respecting the centuries-old values that define the brand.

The Conservas Pinhais online store was developed using the Shopify platform, with a customized template to align with the brand's visual identity, from its colors to the charismatic "varina" basket (a typical Portuguese basket) instead of the usual shopping cart icon.

Through the catalog, the user can select the desired canned goods and, in just a few clicks, have their order shipped to any address in the world.

 

The digital marketing strategy followed a 4-phase approach: analysis, planning, execution, and reporting. The planning also included content production, such as blog articles, aimed at obtaining organic traffic and reinforcing the brand's positioning.

The strategy also incorporated email marketing, abandoned cart automations, and annual customer satisfaction surveys—elements that strengthen the relationship between consumers and the brand and allow the digital presence to be adapted based on feedback.

 

Conversion mechanics and digital retargeting campaigns were integrated to boost sales and keep customers engaged.
