A Digital Platform for Sustainability and Public Service
How a modern and intuitive website strengthened the mission of an intermunicipal company, promoting environmental literacy and civic participation.

the brand
Tratolixo is an intermunicipal company dedicated to the management of urban waste in five municipalities in Portugal. Its mission is crucial for environmental sustainability, focused on the collection, sorting, and treatment of waste. As a public sector entity, Tratolixo plays a fundamental role in raising citizens' awareness and promoting good environmental practices, serving as a link between the public, the municipalities, and waste management.

the challenge
The challenge was to create a website that was more than just an institutional portal. The new platform needed to be a public service tool, with clear and accessible information about Tratolixo's services, waste separation rules, and collection points. It was crucial to develop an intuitive design that would facilitate navigation for all citizens, regardless of their digital literacy, and that would reflect the importance of the company's work in building a more sustainable future.

the story
We developed a website for Tratolixo using the Umbraco platform, with a focus on public service and environmental literacy. The platform's design was conceived to be accessible and informative, simplifying the complex network of information about waste management. With clear and direct navigation, the site allows citizens to quickly find what they need: from collection schedules in their municipalities to specific waste collection points and information on the correct way to recycle.

Tratolixo's new digital platform is a key part of its communication and service strategy. The website functions as a resource center, with detailed information about services, news, and events, as well as an area dedicated to educational and awareness projects. This citizen-centered approach makes Tratolixo more accessible and transparent, strengthening public trust and encouraging active participation in waste management.
